Roman Mokrov

Born in 1986 in the city of Elektrougli, Moscow Oblast. Graduated from the Moscow State Oblast University (a master’s in psychology), the Free Studios contemporary art school at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art and the Institute of Contemporary Art in 2011. In 2012, with his work “Endless Story” he became a finalist and special prize winner at the Innovation all-Russian contemporary art competition, also receiving a Special Mention award from the jury of the Now & Later’12 International Video Art Festival. A nominee for the Kandinsky Prize (“Young Artist. Project of the Year”) in 2012 and the Sergey Kuryokhin Prize (“Best Media Object”) in 2013. Personal exhibitions: “Nemoskva” (Moscow Museum of Modern Art, 2012), “Destiny of a Man” (Triumph Gallery, Moscow, 2012), “Protective Shields” (Nina Due Gallery, Milan, 2013), “Pastoral” (Manege Central Exhibition Hall, Moscow, 2013). Mokrov has also participated in many group exhibitions at the National Center for Contemporary Arts, the Central House of Artists, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the Manege, the State Tretyakov Gallery and others. Lives and works in Moscow and Elektrougli.
