Max Sher

Born in 1975 in Leningrad. Studied linguistics at Kemerovo and Strasbourg Universities, beginning to work in photography in 2006. In 2008, he was nominated for the Dutch KLM Paul Huf Awards, in 2013 he was a finalist in the British photography award, the Cord Prize. Sher has participated in group exhibitions in Russia, Austria, Italy, Slovakia and other countries. Personal exhibitions: at Photodepartment Gallery in St. Petersburg in 2008 and 2010. Together with Yegor Zaika held an exhibition titled “Residence Permit” in December of 2012 at the Winzavod Center for Contemporary Art, Moscow. In October of 2013, in Moscow’s Triumph Gallery, he presented his book “Distant, Barely Audible Evening Waltz”, published by the Treemedia publishing house. In January-February, 2014, at the Triumph Gallery, the artist presented a personal exhibition titled “Map and Territory.” Lives and works in Moscow.
