
Ivan Mikhaylov
Ivan Mikhaylov was born in 1981 in the town of Novocheboksarsk. In 2003, he graduated from the Chuvashia State Pedagogical University, having specialized as a teacher of the visual arts and sketching. From 2003 to 2007, worked as a freelance designer and commercial photographer. Has worked on personal projects since 2008. In 2012–2013, did work experience at art residences in Dusseldorf and Paris. Mikhaylov’s personal exhibitions have been presented in Cheboksary (2008), Novosibirsk (2013), Moscow (Megapolis, Zurab Tsereteli Gallery, 2009; Children’s Arena, Glaz Gallery, 2012), in France (Megapolis, Abbaye de Montmajour, Arle, 2010) and in Germany (Children’s Arena, Atelier am Eck Gallery, 2011). Mikhaylov has also participated in group exhibitions in Russia and abroad, including the Ready to Fly? exhibition (Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Moscow, 2014), Priceless City (Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow, 2014), Allegory of Oblivion (Georges Pompidou Centre, Paris, 2014), Modern Russian Photography (TEA, Santa-Cruz, Spain, 2014), Modern Russian Photography (Huston, USA, 2012), Lianzhou- FOTO Photofestival. Lives and works in Cheboksary and Moscow.
